Prayers Please

We love Uncle David. And Uncle David loves all things that boys like. Like hunting and killing deer. Like deciding to keep the skull and horns off of the deer, but not storing it in a proper place. So, he stores it under my parent's deck for over 2 months. Yes, a dead deer head hanging under my parent's back deck for OVER 2 months. GROSS! Then, being the boy he is, thinks it's a good idea to put it in water. Not sure why. After soaking it in water, he attempts to get all of the remaining pieces of the deer off with a razor blade (on Monday). Remember, he's going for the skull and horns look. Some words that he threw out when we spoke of the de-skinning event were 'leftover hair', 'maggots', 'meat'. If you're like me, you agree that this whole event has NASTINESS written all over it.

We do love Uncle David. Even with all of his gross boy encounters. But, the events of de-skinning the deer head must not have loved David. I say this because Uncle David is now in the hospital. Please pray for him. PLEASE PRAY.

This morning (Wednesday) around 2-3 a.m., David woke up with one of his hands aching. When he looked at it, he noticed that he had a place that looked like a thorn or something stuck in the front of his pointer finger. Being the "do it yourselfer" he is (I'm sure you figured that out by his attempt to de-skin the deer), he tried to get whatever it was out of his finger. He didn't sleep well after that and his finger began to swell some. During the day, red lines began to move up David's arm. After talking to Uncle Bud, my dad convinced David to go to the doctor this afternoon. When the doctor saw David's finger and arm, he told him that he was calling the hospital and David needed to go there right away. So, Uncle David's in the hospital. What we know right now is that something (WHO KNOWS WHAT - from the nastiness of the deer de-skinning.) got into David's finger and has started an infection. The infection is spreading up his arm. The doctor at the hospital started David on an antibiotic tonight and has put David on the schedule for surgery in the morning. They're going to go in his finger to see what's causing the infection and hopefully get it cleaned out. If the antibiotics do wonders overnight, then they won't do surgery.

I am asking for your prayers for David, Trisha, Mom, and Dad. Please pray that the antibiotics begin to get rid of the infection. Please pray that David has patience with the hospital staff. Please pray that God is glorified through this situation. God is so good and David (and our family) has chance to show others that.

We love you Uncle David (or Day-yay, as Will calls him.)
